A MUM who’s been branded a ”Karen” has sparked a fierce debate after fighting to have her teenage daughter’s grades improved.
According to the parent, who took to Reddit to share the story, the child’s teacher had taken a personal dislike of her daughter, 17.

Although the teenager seems to like everyone at the school, the only person she’s ever had an issue with is ”Miss Jane”, who’s said to give ”special treatment” to the more popular kids, as she herself reckons to be rather ”popular”.
The mum wrote in her post: ”Miss Jane turns a blind eye to a lot of bad behavior from the more popular kids in her class.
”One of these more popular girls “Amber” had been bullying Sarah [her kid] for weeks.”
But despite witnessing most of this behaviour, the parent claimed that the teacher had allegedly done ”nothing about it”, and it wasn’t until the mum escalated the matters to the administration ”for anything to be done”.
After this incident, the teenager felt as if Miss Jane had taken it ”personally on Amber’s behalf” – which even led her to grade Sarah’s assignments ”unfairly”.
The last straw, the mum revealed, was the most recent project where she gave a presentation that accounted for a good portion of her grade.
The parent wrote: ”It was clear that Miss Jane graded based on her personal dislike of Sarah.
”Just one example was that she marked Sarah for standing in one place during the presentation and not moving more.”
Later, after chatting with her fellow classmates, Sarah came to discover that the teacher had marked nobody else off for that.
Again, the mum ”had to escalate this to administration for anything to be done about it”.
After ”fighting” with the team, the mum finally managed to have her daughter’s grade raised to the level she had deserved – and she didn’t stop there either.
”I also put in a request with administration to transfer Sarah into another teacher’s class.”
But whilst this may have resolved the issue, the mum was soon branded a ”typical Karen” by her very own niece, 19.
At a recent family event, she had allegedly overheard the 19-year-old telling her father dad about how she ”was a “Typical Karen” throwing a tantrum to get her kid’s way”.
Not only was the niece saying rude things about Saraj, but also accusing her of only passing the class because her mum had ”whined to the school” – something the mother insisted was ‘ She was saying rude things about Sarah too, accusing her of only passing because I whine to the school, which is ”now even remotely true”.
”Sarah is on the honor roll because she is highly intelligent and works hard.”
Fellow Redditors soon flocked to comments to share their thoughts on the matter – and it appeared that the opinion had been divided.
One said: ”The amount of people upset about this woman standing up for her daughter is crazy.
”She didn’t ask for judgement on the interaction with the teacher.”
Meanwhile, another reckoned: ”Going to a teacher to raise your child’s grades is wrong.”
Someone else hit back: ”But going to a teacher to question why the grade was given and to point out obvious discrepancies to other students in same class and to question her bias is what good involved parents do.”
”NTA [Not the A**hole], cuddos for standing up for your daughter from her bully and teacher,” a fellow Redditor praised the mum.
