And in a video on her TikTok page, Abbie explained that the timings of Callum’s holidays, as well as their wedding and honeymoon, means their two kids will be missing school for almost two months.

“So my boyfriend is a professional footballer and I’ve now got to take my children out of school term for six weeks,” she said.

“Just for some context for people who don’t really follow football – my partner gets off May, June and that’s the kids term time.

“If we didn’t take them out of school for six weeks they won’t be able to go on holidays with the family, see the family at all, because we live two hours away from our family.

“They don’t really get spent much time with them unless is this offseason.”

The children have previously just been in nursery, so it hasn’t been an issue for them to miss it.

However, this year, Abbie’s daughter is in school.

And while Abbie has asked for the school’s permission, they said they “can’t authorise it”.

“However what else am I supposed to do?” she asked,.

“If I don’t take her out she doesn’t get these life experiences – going to different countries and enjoying time with family.

“I mean, I’m gonna do it anyway I just want to know what anybody else would do.”

“Why 6 weeks?” one person commented on the video.

“Take ’em on a two week holiday.”

“Wedding, honeymoon, 2 week family holiday and 1 week 50th birthday holiday,” Abbie replied.

“Bit excessive! We all manage with weddings, birthdays etc while children at school!!” another said.

“All seems it’s like it’s on your terms .. gotta think of their education,” a third commented.

“Six weeks feels unnecessary,” someone else wrote.

With Abbie responding: “I agree.

“However it won’t be every year, we are getting married this year.”

“So you don’t NEED to take them out,” another added.

“You’re making a PERSONAL choice.”

Speaking to Fabulous, Abbie reflected on the comments she sometimes gets from trolls.

“I feel like no matter what you do you can’t please everyone,” she said.

“I’m very lucky to have my partner.

“With his profession he has had to deal with a lot of criticism and he’s taught me to laugh it off, and how to be very sure of yourself as a person.

“I may agree or disagree with people online but one thing I would never do is put my negative feelings onto anyone else.”

And other people in the comments section were in support of Abbie’s decision.

“My partner’s in football and we’re doing the same thing when it comes down to it,” one wrote.

“If you don’t experience it, you don’t understand.

“Enjoy girl!”

“Why are people saying 6 weeks is unnecessary?” another added.

“Spending time with loved ones, travelling, days out is just as important to a child’s development.”

As a third commented: “I bet she will learn a lot more new stuff exploring new countries than sat in a classroom!”
